Prince George, B.C.- The young man charged with four murders in the Prince George area, will be appearing in court October 31st.
That is the date for an appearance by the accused, 21 year old Cody Alan Legebokoff, in the murder of 15 year old Loren Donn Leslie of Fraser Lake. That matter has been going through the court process and has been moved to Supreme Court and is proceeding on the basis of direct indictment.
Legebokoff will appear in court again on November 2nd on the three additional murder charges. He is charged with the first degree murder of 35 year old Jill Stacey Stuchenko in October of 2009, 35 year old Cynthia Frances Maas in October of 2010 and 23 year old Natasha Lynn Montgomery who has not been seen since August of 2010, her remains have not been found.
Regional Crown Counsel, Neil MacKenzie says it is too early to say if all four counts will be tried at once.
RCMP are continuing their investigation and have set up a special tip line for anyone with any information in these cases, the victims or the accused. That tip line number is 1-877-987-8477.
RCMP Inspector Branden Fitzpatrick says Legebokoff was not known to them, that in his past he had had only “minor contact” with police. Inspector Fitzpatrick also says there is nothing to link this investigation with any of the disappearances or murders being investigated as part of the Highway of Tears “E-Pana” investigation.
